Nicole Newsom is the Executive Director and founder of Elevated Communities, an organization born from her recognition of the need for a supportive workspace and resource navigation services in Longmont. With over 20 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in Boulder County, Nicole has built a strong foundation in advocacy and support. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from CU Boulder and a Master of Arts in Advocacy from Regis University. Nicole began her career in 2003 as a Supported Living Counselor at Imagine, later becoming an Adult Case Manager. She also worked as a Program Navigator for the Colorado Youth WINS initiative, gaining valuable expertise in Social Security benefits, and served as an Adult Advocate at the Association of Community Living for eight years, where she provided resource navigation and consultation to over 200 individuals and families. In 2016, Nicole became the owner and Executive Director of Elevated Supports, providing services to over 120 individuals with IDD in Boulder County. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a deep commitment to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities, advocating for their rights, and creating a more inclusive and supportive community.
